Principal Psychologist Lindsay Trims started the business 6 years ago and has built his practice up to employing 4 other psychologists to service the community needs and support the medical centres and doctors in the area.
Lindsay has formed a team of mature-aged psychologists with real life experiences with each of them having at least 10 years counselling experience. We have 3 full size air conditioned, sound proof rooms and our psychologists work with their clients on clearly identifying their issues. Our psychologists support their clients with a range of strategies to assist the client in reducing their distress and to enhance and promote emotional wellbeing.
Proactive Coaching mainly works with people who are suffering from depression, anxiety, grief, low self confidence, relationship problems and general life issues. Lindsay has two psychologists who specialises with children.
Lindsay said that most clients come and see us under the Medicare Better Access Scheme through a doctor’s referral which cuts down on out of pocket expenses. The practice is open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 7.00pm and Saturday by appointment. Last November the South Australian Branch of the Leukaemia Foundation had a charity event called “The Aussie Muscle Car Run”. This event was open to Australian Classic Cars from the era of 1967 – 1977. The event was for 7 days driving 2800km all around South Australia. Lindsay is a proud owner of a 1974 HJ GTS Monaro and thought it would be a good way to really test his car and raise some money for a great cause. With co-driver Stuart Andrews “Team Merv” travelled 7500km in 10 days to complete the journey. It was a great event and “Team Merv” raised $4700.00 for the Leukaemia Foundation. In total, just over $260 000.00 was raised and with time permitting Team Merv is thinking about doing the event again this year. Lindsay would like to thank our major sponsors; Drummond Golf at Ashmore, Kennards Hire and PHP Plumbing.
